I'm dreaming of a white Christmas

Happy Holidays!  I have returned from my zone of holiday frenzy to post another day.  I am so thankful that this holiday season I am able to spend it with some very special people and I am even more thankful to have the aforementioned special people in my life.  The only tragedy to speak of is the weather and my ill prepared packing.  I packed a bag of a couple outfits as I am hustling about from place to place and packed clothes for colder climates as it was pretty chilly last week but the weather miraculously warmed up quite a bit Christmas day, definitely making this otherwise appropriately comfy sweater very uncomfortable to wear, even with a skirt and bare legs.  I suppose if this is all I have to complain about I should consider myself lucky.  Wishing you lots of love and cheer!

Out of the orange colored sky

Last weekend I attended the grand opening of the TenderBabes Boutique, actually I guess it was more of a house warming since they had just relocated from Hermosa Beach to Redondo Beach, within walking distance of my house!  Having a super cute boutique so close to me is honestly a dream come true, but a very dangerous thing.  Well at the event I browsed around all the fabulous things and came across this beautiful lacy slashed blouse by Lush. I also own a slashed sweater from Lush, which I find kind of amusing that I now have two slashed items by Lush, I don't know why that is but little things like that provide me with such entertainment.  Anyways, the lovely ladies of Tender Babes were so welcoming I am sure I will be back super soon, AND I also won a gift certificate to boot and received a little gift bag, basically making this the best shopping experience ever.  Who doesn't love a little extra something something?
p.s check out my nails, Nancy of Dipped Nails is a nail magician she always does the coolest designs.

ci ci ci cinnamon lips

Hello there, I has been quite a while since my last post.  I have been caught up in the frenzy of holiday shopping leaving me little time to think of much else.  My ensemble for this post is actually my go to shopping outfit.  It is comfy and casual, but some punchy details make it a bit more interesting than just wearing a sweat suit.  And, my new Lauren Moffatt coat, is quickly becoming one of my favorite pieces because it is so warm and beautiful and it livens up even the frumpiest of outfits, point in case.  Well anyways, hang in there my friends, we will survive the holidays.

I don't want to wait at all

Just another ho hum day in my fabulous new Lauren Moffatt coat from Anthropologie.  I was sitting at home yesterday afternoon, perusing some blogs when I noticed  Keiko Lynn, wearing this coat.  I sighed thinking I could never afford it and it will never be mine when I noticed she mentioned it was super on sale in stores only.  So, being the crazy person I am, I jumped in my car, drove to the nearest Anthropologie and practically ran through the store to the sales section.  AND BEHOLD, they had only one left, in my size and the sales girl told me it had just been returned.  It was definitely fate, at least that's what I tell myself when I rationalize spending the money on it.  Money well spent if you ask me, it is pretty much everyone's favorite coat on me, I joke.

Just like a distant star

I had the pleasure of stopping by the Open Market Place at Highland and Sunset this past Saturday and had a wonderful time.  It was only two dollars to get in with free parking to boot, quite a rare find in Los Angeles.  Among the vendors were the lovely ladies of Le Fashion Truck, and I just had to pick up a couple of things, including this fabulous dress from 50 Dresses and this vintage bag.  I now feel like there is definitely no better way to shop than out of a delightfully pink, French inspired truck.  And, p.s. I'm loving this dress by the aforementioned 50 Dresses, a local LA brand.  It is so easy to wear and it came with a matching sash to either wear as a belt or a head scarf, I do so love dresses that come with ready made accessories.  Well who am I kidding, I am a sucker of a dress with out without matching belts/head scarfs, but it sure doesn't hurt!

Shadows jumping all over the walls

Lazy Sundays, are the best kind of Sunday if you ask me.  Nothing much happening aside from the usual grocery shopping and cleaning up around the house.  Sometimes it's nice not having anywhere to go.  I have an upcoming appointment at the beauty parlor and I'm mulling over changing my hair color.  This is what I do in the week/days leading up to it and I never do anything different.  I just go in, sit down and I barely have to say anything, my hairstylist just works her magic.  However, I'm sort of craving a change, but I am usually not bold enough to do anything about it.  Perchance this time will be different, maybe I'll muster up some courage between now and the appointment.  And, about this outfit, I ran across this dress while I was waiting for my fish tacos one day on my lunch break and I wandered into this cute store and voila found this super cute dress.  The material is so very comfortable and I love the retro vibe of the dress.  The best part is, it is so easy to wear this dress, which made it perfect for my lazy Sunday.

Can I call you my love, can I call you mine?

This weekend is turning out to be a truly pleasant one indeed.  The weather is nice, the horrific winds have ceased, I'm getting to spend time with some very special people, and I've gotten to watch my Netflix-ed Perry Mason episodes, not too shabby.  I wore this outfit out and about today, I dropped by the Open Market Place at Sunset and Highland and had a wonderful time.  You might remember this sweater from here and this skull dress from my 25th birthday day at Disneyland.  I actually love this skull dress, from a far it just looks like a pattern, maybe flowers or polka dots but up close you find that it is skulls.  I attempted to avoid wearing this dress in the month of October because the one time I did, of course I heard how cute my Halloween dress is, ugh...so anyways, it is now December and safely far enough away from Halloween to wear it again.

Fabulous Finds Friday

Since it's December and I'm thinking about the upcoming holidays, my finds, I'm finding are items I could imagine giving as gifts, not only to myself but to other people.  But, who am I kidding, I generally shop with the 1:1 ratio, one for them and one for me.  That being said I am absolutely in love with these Agate Coasters from Uncommon Goods.  They are so beautiful and not just your average coasters.  I would love to offer one of my guests one of these beauties as they threateningly move to place their moistened beverage on my hardwood.  But, this is also the kind of beautiful item I could just as easily give to someone as a housewarming gift or a holiday present, it is sure to charm even the most difficult mother in law.

When giving holiday gifts, I most certainly can not forget about my number one love, my dog, Wesley, who has made a couple of appearances on this blog.  Usually we drop by the local Petco and I let him pick out a toy but I am really loving these mid-century modern dog bowls from Modpet and really isn't that what gift giving is all about? Giving people stuff YOU really love?  Well perhaps in addition to these fab bowls he will still get to pick out a toy.  I am a total sucker for mid century design and I think these would look very stylish in my kitchen.
