DIY- Uses for olive oil

If you've read my last blog post about the honey, lemon face scrub you know that I am REALLY into DIY, especially with beauty products you can find in your pantry.  My latest obsession is olive oil!  You don't have to break the bank and buy a pricey brand, for my beauty uses I just by the cheap store brand and it really goes a long way. There are so many uses here are just a couple.:

Mix with sugar to create a lip scrub for smooth and moisturized lips.

I do so much to my hair, such as using heat products and coloring it, that I often find it damaged.  Applying a little bit of olive oil to the tips at night will leave it shiny and help prevent split ends by moisturizing the hair.

It can also be applied to your nails and cuticles and is a wonderful replacement for cuticle oil that leaves the skin moisturized and the nail shiny, it looks like you just had a beautiful manicure!

* Some other helpful uses not pictured are applying it before shaving to prevent razor burn as well using it to help you remove eye make-up.  It is basically a wonderful go to product.

DIY Lemon and Honey Face Cleanser

As I've mentioned before, I've really been getting into DIY projects, which has recently explanded to my beauty regime as well.  I love the item of use natural ingredients on my skin rather than strange chemicals and such.  While I was perusing pinterest I came accross this wonderfully simply face cleanser that just involves a half a lemon and a couple of drops of honey, rub, rub, rub, let sit for a couple of minutes, rinse and voila, a beautifully fresh face.  Although, as I have learned from experience, be very carefully not to squeeze the lemon as you are rubbing it on your face, it will almost always go in your eyes.

We're hanging by our shoestrings

It has been so warm lately in the LA area I have found I'm drawn to nautical looks, I guess I'm subconsciously wishing I was sailing the high seas.  Sailing or not, I feel very lucky indeed to have been able to spend some leisurely days with very fun people.

I'm a fireball

So if you have seen some of my outfit posts you can probably deduce I am a sucker for a super cute print dress.  This one is no exception, it is a robot print with a peter pan collar and pyramid buttons.  Umm....yes please!  I love the whimsy of the dress and why not wear clothes that will be instant conversation starters...? I was lucky enough to be able to wear this dress out on the town with one of my nearest and dearest.  Our date included empanadas from the always delicious Nonna's Empanadas and some shopping at The Grove, just another wonderful Wednesday.

I was born to

I absolutely love meandering about on gorgeous days, especially with good friends.  Today I was lucky enough to meander a bit while waiting for a friend before scooting off for a delicious meal at Royal/T.  The saddest news of all is that Royal/T will be closing July 22nd, so make sure you get in one last time before they do.  On a lighter note the beautiful day gave me a perfect excuse for wearing this super cute sundress gifted to be by a dear friend who recently returned from a trip to Israel.  Knowing that such a cute dress came from there makes me want to visit all the more.

I see you're back again....

Hello my friends, it has been quite awhile, but I am back with a vengence!  I have been really into crafting and home improvements lately and my latest project is just too cool not to share.  I have a small collection of vintage eyeglasses that have until recently been littering my bookshelves, but today I mounted them in shadow boxes and I could not be more pleased with the results.  Please let me know if you have any fun projects going on!
