So I've been a little obsessed lately with looking at super cute dresses online and I just wanted to share some of my favorites.

I came across this one on Shabby Apple! To die for.

Fabulous Finds Friday

At the risk of sounding like a lush, I love Tequila.  I especially love Real de Mexico Resposado.  It is definitely my all time favorite brand above all others, hands down.  I drink it neat (no ice) with pineapple juice in a tumbler glass.  This drink shall forever be known as the Miss Della Street, I wonder if I can petition that with someone...Anyways, this tequila is so smooth you actually can drink it straight.  The trouble is, it is a bit tricky to find.  I have only been to *two locations that serve it, but I am sure to ask everywhere I go just in case.  Now I just need to figure out where I can purchase a bottle for myself.

*Coyote Cantina and Las Perlas

My second fabulous find is Voluspa candles. I love em.  They are soy candles so they don't release carcinogens in the air when burned and they have really amazing scents such as Champaca Bloom and Fern and Santiago Huckleberry, that aren't the typical Yankee Candle variety, no offense intended; think spa scents.  If you meander into an Anthropologie they are always burning these puppies up in there and you can also pick some up for yourself!

smeared black ink

I've been very inspired lately by the influx of fabulous ensembles on television, i.e. PAN AM, Glee, The New Girl.  This inspiration is rather a distraction because I really have so much I need to do but have done little to none of it.  I find myself googling the outfits and endlessly browsing online shops.  Oh well, for now I will just try to channel that inspiration into my ensembles and try to stay away from the computer until I am at least slightly productive.  Anyways, speaking of ensembles, this particular one is inspired by the aforementioned sources.

the zoo keeper's daughter

I was just remembering today how when I was younger, from about ages six to thirteen I was so incredibly shy and modest I did not want to wear anything to draw attention to myself.  I refused to wear tank tops or anything that would show my shoulders, because I felt that was too provocative.  I also had and to a much lesser degree still have a strange aversion towards buttons.  Anyways, it is so strange to think of that and look at how now I'm posing next to my kitchen sink for my style blog.  CRAZY, the six year old me would've never have guessed it.  Anyways, I was so excited to blog about this outfit because I love the components of it so very much.  The dress by Audrey 3+1 and I absolutely love a good owl print, by far my favorite of all the quirky prints,  so I had to have it, also the cut is super flattering and it is just such a comfortable piece to wear.  The sweater is one of my favorite bargain hunting finds.  It is a plus size wrap sweater but I love it because over-sized sweaters are the perfect item for Fall and Winter AND I totally feel like an Olsen twin in it.  This ensemble paired with one of my favorite pairs of platforms, by Seychelles, which I've had for years and years and are super comfortable and have stood the test of time.

a horse is not a home

I love pieces that I can transition through the seasons.  For example this dress (by one of my favorite brands, BeBop) is a summer frock with a cut out back and fanciful flowers, but add a sweater and some tights and boom it as a perfect fall ensemble. I chose some fancy patterned tights and some of my favorite news flats with some cha cha on them to pair with my dress, and I don't know if you've noticed but I do love a patterned dress and will definitely wear them no matter the season.  However, I do live in Southern California, so really when I say seasons I am referring to the 10-20 degree difference that vacillates throughout the year.  Anyways, of course when I was taking these pictures Wesley had to be included, he is such a ham for the spotlight, and really he is always in style with his basic black coat.

Fabulous Finds Friday (belated)

It has been FOREVER since I've done a Fabulous Finds Friday and I sincerely apologize for being so neglectful.  And, now when I do decide to do it, it isn't even Friday, what am I going to do with myself.

Anyways, I am happy to present this product as one of my fabulous finds.  It is an eyeshadow primer and it is AMAZING.  I use it every morning before I apply my shadow and at the end of the day my eye make up looks just as it did when I put it on in the morning, cross my heart.  I don't know what I would do without it.

My second Fabulous Find is OPI's Cajun Shrimp.  I think I have a special place in my heart for Cajun Shrimp because it brought one of my dearest friends and I together.  I noticed her wearing it and complimented her on her nail polish and then proceeded to hound her into telling me what is was called and who it was by and voila now we are such good friends with a shared passion for all things OPI.  I know it isn't really one of the Fall shades but I love it and think it can really be worn across all seasons, it is a perfect mix of pink, red and orange.

the little red dress

I happen to love a simple yet classic little black dress, so timeless and very stylish but sometimes I just don't feel like wearing black.  So to my delight I came across this beautiful shoulder pleated red dress while perusing asos a couple weeks ago.  I love a good a-line skirt and three quarter sleeve but it was the v-back that really sold me, so retro.  And, the red is such a lovely color, how could I have resisted?

you keep me under your spell

I was recently gifted this fabulous capelet from one of my favorite French women and I couldn't resist wearing it out today.  It is so soft and warm I know it will come in great use as the weather starts cooling down. But until then, I'm sure I'll be able to put it to good use.

I jaunted out to the movie theater today and saw Drive, amazing movie, and this was the perfect addition to my ensemble, because you know how darn cold those movie theaters can be and it completed the outfit so much better than just your average sweater or hoodie.  I just feel so instantly stylish in it.  I love the ski collar, the charcoal grey with black piping and the retro yet modern feel.  LOVE LOVE LOVE.

afternoon strolls

Today me and the perro negro and one of my dearest friends and her dog went for a lovely walk along the Venice Canals.  It is so gorgeous and peaceful there, I envy the residents, who are actually quite lovely people, the few that struck up conversation with us about our dogs.  It is funny that at the end of all our conversations with the residents they all said "Enjoy your walk!" How pleasant is that?  Perchance someday I will be among them and will wish that on passing pedestrians as well.  One must wonder, does living in a lovely place make you a more pleasant person?

Things I love from NY Fashion Week

As you probably know NY Fashion Week has come and gone.  After browsing countless images of Spring Collections for 2012 I now feel better informed and can confidently tackle the Fall knowing that I will conquer the Spring, I kid.  Anyways, just thought I'd share a couple of my stand outs. Oh and this very informative and easy to follow video about the hair stylings of Erin Fetherston's show, a la Daily Candy.
