the wind talks back

I am so happy to have an occasion to wear my new Britt Ryan tunic, recently picked up at her Newbury St. boutique on my latest trip to Boston. I wandered into the boutique partly for refuge from the chilly weather, partly because I was lured in by the pink walls and the fabulously feminine window display.  Either way it was love at first sight.  I wish I could have bought one of everything, unfortunately my wallet was not so open to the idea.  And, while I'm not usually one for separates I was drawn to this top because of the fun little bow details and it's overall versatility.

I still remember

I recently received this dress courtesy of BeBop and I instantly fell in love with it.  I naturally tend toward cool tones, and especially with the weather cooling they just feel so appropriate.  I love the feminine qualities of this dress, the rosebud pattern and the ruffles which make a nice pairing with ballet flats but could just as easily be paired with a pair of androgynous boots for a play on contrasts.  Either way, I'm in love.

Giveaway closes on 11/30.

To enter, just three easy steps: 1. "Like" Miss Della Street on Facebook 2. "Like" BeBop Clothing on Facebook 3. Leave a comment on this post telling how you will style this dress.

get out of California, I'm tired of the weather

My trip to Boston has come and gone, leaving me with a tinge of melancholy.  I am left longing for the beautiful Fall weather.  Boston is definitely one of my favorite cities and one of my most favorite people is a resident there, so I may be a bit biased.  My trip included lots of food, lots of shopping (yay for no sales tax!) and lots of walking.  What more could I have asked for? I was also so very excited to take my new Cristina Pires dress out for a spin, I had been saving it to wear on my trip.  It is a custom clock print dress, and Cristina was such a pleasure to work with. It definitely turned out better than I could've imagined.  I do love a fabulous print and what is better than a clock print. And, this dress blended perfectly with the fall backdrop.  All and all what a wonderful time.

all mixed up in the wash

Another pair of boots, I still have my blisters.  I guess I'm hoping they will magically disappear.  Today I am feeling a bit mixed up in the wash, I couldn't really figure out what to wear.  I'm kind of hoarding all of my favorite outfits for my upcoming trip, leaving me lost to figure out new ensembles.  And, because of my blisters basically I worked my outfit around the pair of boots I'd wear.  Silly dilemmas, but dilemmas none the less.

everyday I'm at my desk, at my desk I'm like the rest

Just an abbreviated post today, one of my friends was so kind to take the photos for me.  I actually have some crazy blisters on my feet right now from wearing new shoes while walking up hills, I was pretty much asking for them.  Anyways, these boots were the only shoes I could wear today that did not rub the blistered area.  This is not a terrible thing since I love these boots.  They are by Nicole and have a nice wedge that is very wearable and walkable, and I love pretending that I'm taller than I am so blisters or no blisters I was happy.

the city is my church

Just another bright and sunny November day here in Southern California.  I decided to enjoy the sunshine while it lasts and walked around in more of a summer outfit than fall.  I even got away with wearing open toed shoes.  I'm going to be traveling to Boston, MA soon and I know I will definitely not be packing my tank tops and open toed shoes, so why not enjoy them now right? Especially when the weather "should" cool down ever so slightly, at least one would hope, as winter approaches.
